Technical Coaching team

Our Technical Coaching Team, led by Technical Director Jordan Moore, brings together specialist coaches dedicated to lifting the standard across the entire club.

Working closely with all WCFC coaches throughout the season, they provide hands‑on support, run coach education sessions, and deliver targeted player training focused on key elements of the game.

Their mission is simple: consistent development, stronger coaching, and better football for every player at Whitford City FC.

Jordan Moore
Technical Director

With over 14 years in professional football as both a player and talent specialist, our Technical Director brings experience from Scotland, Ireland, Thailand, and Australia. His career began at Dundee United FC, with loan spells across the Scottish Championship, before playing abroad and sharing the pitch with several Socceroos.

Forced into early retirement due to illness, he moved into recruitment—first as Dundee United’s Head of Academy Recruitment, then Head of Academy Recruitment at Perth Glory, and later leading Southampton’s scouting across Scotland and Ireland while representing Sport Republic at major European tournaments.

Now settled in Perth, he joins Whitford City FC to guide young players, share his knowledge of the professional game, and support their development on and off the pitch.

Brett Riley
Club President & Technical Coach

With deep roots in senior amateur football in the UK, Brett brings a strong coaching foundation and a genuine passion for developing young players. After moving to Perth a decade ago, he immersed himself in grassroots football, beginning his journey by coaching his eldest son's team.

As the squad grew, so did his commitment. He progressed through the age groups alongside the players, helping guide their development year after year, and now continues that journey as they enter the Under 18s.

He’s at his happiest on the training pitch – shaping confident, capable footballers, fostering belief, and creating an environment where young athletes can thrive. His leadership is grounded in community, development, and a love for the game that runs deep through Whitford City FC.

Garry James
Technical Coach

Growing up in England, Garry developed a deep love for football through years spent playing in amateur leagues every Saturday and Sunday. Those early experiences shaped his appreciation for discipline, teamwork, and resilience – values that continue to guide his coaching today.

Moving to Perth in 2006, he worked in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer while playing for Whitfords Amateurs. During his time with the club, he progressed from Division 4 through to the Premier Division, reinforcing his belief in commitment, continuous development, and the power of strong team culture.

A proud father of three boys, Garry has spent the past nine years working as a PE Teacher in Perth's northern suburbs, combining his passion for education and sport to help young people grow both on and off the field.

After retiring from playing three years ago, he shifted his focus fully to coaching. Now entering his third season with his current group – now the U11s Leading Team – he is dedicated to building confident, skilled young players within a positive, challenging and supportive environment where every child can enjoy their football journey.

Josh Urwin
Technical Coach

Growing up in London, Josh spent his youth immersed in amateur football, building a lifelong connection to the game and the values it inspires.

His coaching journey began at Liverpool University, where he coached and managed the university team from 2003 to 2005. After relocating to Perth in 2007, he stepped back briefly to focus on business and family before returning to the game when his son began playing.

Since then, Josh has coached across multiple age groups at Whitford City FC – starting with the U10s, progressing to the U11s Development squad, and leading the U12s. Alongside coaching, he remains an active player in the Whitfords men's senior team, continuing to enjoy the game both on and off the pitch.

Simon Williams
Goalkeeping & Technical Coach

Simon is a goalkeeper, coach, and dedicated committee member at Whitford City FC. An FA Goalkeeping School graduate, he has played non-league football across the English Midlands and represented clubs in Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

Now in his third season as a goalkeeping coach at the club, Simon also coaches the U14 Boys Development Team while continuing to play for the Whitfords men's side. Above all, he's a proud father to George (U15 Leading Team), Leo (U14 Development Team), and Rosie.
