Dates & Times
Boys Teams Saturday 12 & Saturday 19 October 2024 9.00am to 10.15am – Under 9 & Under 13 10.45am to 12.00pm – Under 10 & Under 14 12.30pm to 1.45pm – Under 11 & Under 15 2.15pm to 3.30pm - Under 12 & Under 16 There will be an open trial for Under 18's in the New Year. Registration on the day takes place on the upper pitches at Warrandyte Park, Warrandyte Drive, Craigie. Girls Teams Saturday 2 & Saturday 9 November 2024 5.00pm to 6.00pm – Under 9 to 10 6.15pm to 7.15pm – Under 11 to 14 7.30pm to 8.30pm – Under 15 to 17 All players trialling should attend wearing shinpads, appropriate footwear and bring a water bottle, arriving at least 20 minutes prior to their registered time to be allocated a player number. More about Trials
A player can only try out for one team.
If selected, a player is expected to attend a minimum of 75 % of training and games. Once a position is accepted, the player must be registered prior to our general admission date. This will be confirmed in the player's letter of offer.
The creation of leading and development teams, will be based on the following criteria:
Technical skills
The basis of our assessment of technical skills is derived from Football West as presented in the “Football West Skills Training and Game Training coaching course”. Basic skills such as First Touch- Positioning – Passing and the ability to “read and understand the game” are being taught and mastered throughout the training and exercised in a game setting.
Game mentality & motivation
Children who are intrinsically motivated to strive and do well for the team and themselves. They, whilst discovering their desired position within the team, understand that success within the team comes from participation and the sharing of success.
Please be advised that our committee will send out the outcome of the trials after they have taken place, but will NOT DISCUSS any outcomes with any players/parents/caretakers.
Children who are unsuccessful for the leading or development teams are encouraged to register for one of the other teams, in the same age group, when general registration opens.
